RSL FOUNDER, RECOGNISED BY LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD, RELEASES MUSIC EDUCATION REPORT

RSL’s Founder, Norton York, has been awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2023 Music and Drama Education Awards held in the UK in recognition of his extraordinary contribution to music education in the UK over the past 30 years.

Norton York visited Singapore in 2017 to attend the Rockschool Concert!

Norton’s win comes as a great accolade to the years of dedication he has given to innovating the music and creative arts education sector. Norton’s progressive approach to music education transformed the sector, and he continues to revolutionise the Creative Industries with RSL Awards’ leading qualifications portfolio.

His recently updated report into the music education system in England shows that despite the well documented decline in GCSE music qualifications, overall music qualifications are on the rise in schools.

Norton has been instrumental in many innovations in the music education sector and his new report shows why music education is still growing in England. Take a look at his updated report here!

Did you know Norton York is also a trombone player? He played with the house band at the Rockschool Concert in Singapore back in 2017.
