Russian pianist Denis Matsuev will be performing his Singapore debut concert in November 2023 playing numerous classical favourites as well as contemporary jazz pieces.
Some classical works he will perform include Beethoven’s Piano Sonata No. 17 in D minor, Rachmaninoff’s Preludes (Op.3, No.2 and Op.23, No.5), Chopin Waltz Op.64 No.2 and many more! You can also indulge in Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue, which has been improvised and arranged for jazz trio where he will be joined by award-winning musicians, double bassist Andrei Ivanov and jazz drummer Alexander Singer.

ABOUT THE ARTISTE
Since attaining the First Prize at the 11th International Tchaikovsky Competition (1998), Russian pianist Denis Matsuev has become a virtuoso in the grandest of Russian pianistic tradition. Today, he is considered one of the most prominent pianists of his generation.
Nowadays Denis Matsuev is a frequent and welcome guest at major concert halls throughout the world, an indispensable participant of major music festivals and a regular partner of leading symphony orchestras.
Denis Matsuev has been a soloist with the Moscow Philharmonic since 1995. He has presented his annual solo subscription called “Denis Matsuev Soloist” since 2004. The subscription includes performances by leading orchestras in Russia and abroad. For many years Denis Matsuev has been director and inspirer of a number of music festivals, educational and promotional projects, becoming a leading musical public figure.
Denis Matsuev is the artistic director of the Rachmaninoff Foundation. A landmark event for the pianist was the presentation of one of the world’s most prestigious music awards – the Shostakovich Prize, which was awarded to him in 2010. In May 2011 the pianist was awarded the title “People’s Artist”. In April 2014, UNESCO awarded Denis Matsuev the honorary title of UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador. In December 2016, Denis Matsuev was awarded the Order of Honour.
