Can I bring my own equipment?
For Drummers bringing your own equipment for the acoustic drum kit (snare drum, drum seat, cymbals, kick drum pedals) is allowed. If you wish to use your own Drum Kit, you must be inform your local RSL representative upon exam registration.
For compatibility reasons, use of personal kick drum pedals is not allowed for the electric drum kit at the RS Event Center public exam venue.
Guitarists & Bassists may choose to bring your own amplifier. Candidates bringing their own equipment are expected to inform the exam board and exam venue in advance, and are expected to be able to set up and tear down within your allotted exam time.
Can I bring someone to help me turn the page on my pieces?
Page turners are not provided or permitted in the RSL Exams. If a piece is too long, candidates may photocopy the necessary pages in order to eliminate the need for page turning. Several music stands are provided for your use in the exam.
