Do you know that voice you hear doing the count-in at the beginning of almost every song in the Rockschool syllabuses? Well, we’re about to introduce you to the man behind that iconic voice.
Meet Martin Hibbert, the long-time Rockschool collaborator who’s lent his voice to some of the biggest hits in the Rockschool syllabuses. He’s the one who’s been counting us in for so many of our Rockschool Originals and covers over the years, keeping us on beat and ensuring our performances are top-notch.
Martin is the Principal Instructor, and Head of Vocals at BIMM Institute Bristol. He is a broad-ranged voice artist, having spent the last 20 years working in theatre, TV and production. He’s toured Europe and has played many major venues, both around the UK and in the West End, appearing in musical theatre productions such as Scrooge, Dr. Doolittle, The Pirates of Penzance, A Christmas Carol and Sweet Charity.
In the late 90s, Martin chased the sun around the world on cruise ships, performing in numerous shows and cabarets, while developing and writing his own formats. His vocals have been used in commercials and multimedia infomercials for companies including BT, Tesco, Halifax, Kellogg’s, and many others.
Martin has also worked as a vocal coach privately and with professional schools, including Mountview, Italia Conti and the Jackie Palmer Stage School.
