The Singapore Conference Hall is a music oasis that resides along the bustling city street of Shenton Way and is the home base for the Singapore Chinese Orchestra, as well as Singapore’s largest European Piano showroom, bechstein Music World.
She consists of several venues such as the SCO Concert Hall, Sectional Practice Hall, Exhibition Hall, Concourse and VIP Lounge. The Singapore Conference Hall strives to achieve cultural excellence and provides a platform for local arts groups to showcase their talents.
The Former Singapore Conference Hall and Trade Union House was constructed to house the headquarters of the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) as the fulfilment of an election promise, as well as to host various exhibitions and conferences. Closely linked to Singapore’s history, the avant-garde building witnessed several significant events in the post-independence years.
Gazetted as a National Monument by the National Heritage Board in 2010, the Singapore Conference Hall is equipped with a state of the art variable acoustics to deliver an unforgettable aural experience to everyone who enters.
The Concert Hall, which is the selected venue for the long awaited return of the Rockschool Concert, is equipped with variable acoustics and a new stage which provides premier audio-visual experiences for performers and audiences. With a seating capacity of 831 and acoustics befitting a world class concert venue, we certainly hope that this year’s Rockschool Concert and High Scorer Awards will be one to remember!
