Best Tunes for the Festive Feels

Best Tunes for the Festive Feels – Staff Picks from the RSEC Team

It’s that time of year again where Singapore is decked out in Lights and Holiday-Themed decorations, and a stroll down Orchard Road, or anywhere around town is sure to bring up more than one photo-op.

The past year has definitely been a tough one though and some of us may not find it as easy to get into the spirit of the Holidays – a pandemic keeping some far from home, preventing us from celebrating with our usual traditions.

At RS Event Center, we firmly believe in the power of music to connect us and bring us back to better times. We’ve asked our team members at RSEC to share some of their favourites to help bring us some of that Holiday Cheer.

“The Christmas Song” – Nat King Cole

“Nothing reminds me of home more than this. Though I didn’t grow up hearing this version a lot, the arrangement matched with Nat Kin Cole’s singing just brings back memories.” – JM, Business Development

“Last Christmas” – Wham!

“Love the throwback 80s feel of this song. It’s groovy and catchy, and somehow makes me feel cool on a hot day in this Singapore climate!” – JT, Exam Tech

“Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence” – Ryuichi Sakamoto

“Just a beautifully written composition played beautifully.” – SY, Business Development

“It’s Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas” – Johnny Mathis

“Honestly just because it was in the Home Alone 2 movie soundtrack, one of my favorite Holiday films. I’m definitely a 90s kid!” – TL, Support

“Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” – Michael Bublé

“This list is not safe from Michael! This song and his voice are undeniably a part of Christmas legend now, but can’t deny I love his version of this classic.” – LY, Exams Development

“Away in a Manger” – Traditional

“Just a beautiful melody all around. Reminds me of my childhood attending Church with my family” – JS, Exam Operations

“All I Want for Christmas Is You” – Mariah Carey

“Yes, it’s cliché, but I love her voice! I don’t mind hearing this on repeat, it makes me happy.” – ET, Events
