Groove-first drum kit grades for contemporary players in Singapore
The Rockschool Drums syllabus takes candidates from Premiere to Grade 8 through grooves, fills and full-band tracks in rock, pop, funk, metal, blues, R&B and more. Each grade book features original pieces and familiar styles for drum kit, with pro backing tracks so candidates play as part of a band, not just alone in the practice room.
Exams blend performance pieces, technical work and supporting tests that build timing, coordination, sound and stylistic feel. Early grades develop solid time and basic reading; mid grades create band-ready drummers for school CCAs, pop/rock ensembles and youth bands; higher grades support audition-level sets for contemporary music courses, recording and live work.
