Face-to-Face Exams (in-person)
Get ready (quick checklist)
- Your exam repertoire / programme and supporting materials (as required by your syllabus).
- Photo ID (recommended for all; required for higher grades where applicable).
- Your exam appointment details (time/venue).
- Your instrument essentials (strings, reeds, sticks, capos, pedals, leads) unless provided by the venue. Only Piano & Drums will be provided by the exam venue.
- Arrive early to warm up and settle in.
Recorded Digital Exams (video submission)
Recordings must follow the official Recorded Digital requirements, including a single continuous take (no editing).
In Singapore, candidates typically submit the exam video within the stated submission window (per local exam guidance).

- Stable camera framing + clear audio (test levels before recording).
- Good lighting; remove background noise.
- Internet access for uploading.
- Your candidate details and ID ready (where required).
Online Music Theory Exams
Music Theory is taken online and is not tied to the same face-to-face exam periods.

- A reliable laptop/desktop, stable internet, and a quiet space.
- Your RSL account login details and exam confirmation.
- Allow extra time before the start to check setup.
