Music & Arts Festival

One festival. Many stages. Every performance counts.

The Music & Arts Festival is a new student music and arts festival in Singapore that turns practice-room moments into real stage experiences.

Open to all ages, levels and nationalities, the festival welcomes soloists, duos, ensembles and bands across piano, strings, guitar, drums, vocals and more. Over a few days, stages come alive with exam pieces, pop covers, originals and group items – giving performers a chance to say, “I didn’t just learn it… I played it on stage.”

This first edition is the starting point for a festival that will grow and evolve each year, with new ideas, categories and possibilities as the community builds.

Festival highlights

A celebration, not just a contest

The heart of the festival is encouragement. We welcome different programmes and different levels, from simple beginner tunes to advanced sets. The focus is on giving every participant a meaningful chance to perform and be celebrated, not only on ranking or “who is best”.

All instruments, all styles, one event

Classical, pop, film, jazz, rock, K-pop, school bands, acoustic duos – the festival is designed to bring different sounds onto the same platform. Categories are grouped by age and level so beginners and advanced players each have a suitable, comfortable space to perform what they’ve been working on, whether it’s exam pieces, favourite songs or original music.

A festival that fits every learning journey

Whether performers are preparing for graded exams, playing in CCA, learning casually or exploring songwriting and arranging, they can bring what they’re already working on to the festival. It becomes an easy, low-pressure way to add real stage experience alongside lessons, school concerts and other activities.

Everyone goes home with a prize

Every participant receives tangible recognition for stepping on stage, for example, a festival trophy or award certificate, with higher-tier awards for standout performances depending on the edition. Parents see their children encouraged, not discouraged; learners feel that their effort is seen, whether it’s their first performance or one of many.

Who this stage is for ?

The Music & Arts Festival is for anyone who is learning and wants to perform:

children or adults playing their first pieces in public.

  • those already taking lessons or exams who want more stage time between assessments.
  • instrumentalists and groups keen to share more polished sets in a friendly festival setting.
  • centres looking for an inclusive platform where many students can perform in one festival, across different instruments and levels.

How the Music & Arts Festival works

Each edition of the Music & Arts Festival is held over several days in Singapore, with full details in the official Info Pack. In general:

Instruments, categories & levels

solo, duet and group options across instrument families, ages and broad levels, so performers appear alongside peers of similar experience.

Flexible, learner-friendly programmes

short, manageable performance lengths designed so beginners, intermediate learners and advanced players can all take part with realistic preparation.

Festival awards & recognition

a tiered award system (for example, participation, merit and higher awards) matches the “everyone gets a prize” spirit while still highlighting especially strong musicality and stage presence.
