Coming August 2026: Award-Winning Pianist Roman Borisov Marks His Asia Debut in Singapore

A compelling new force in classical music is heading to Singapore. On Saturday, 29 August 2026, 22-year-old Berlin-based pianist Roman Borisov will make his highly anticipated Asia Debut at the historic Victoria Concert Hall. Titled The Romantic Landscape, this exclusive, one-night-only recital is presented by Bechstein Music World and organized by True Music Singapore.

The Theme: A Circle of Shades

The concert centers around an immersive, cyclical narrative—moving from darkness to light, defiance to deep solace. Played completely unamplified on a magnificent C. Bechstein D282 concert grand piano, the evening is designed to showcase a pure, uncompromised “European Sound” within the pristine acoustics of the Victoria Concert Hall.

Borisov has curated a program of three monumental romantic masterworks that seamlessly connect to form a fluid psychological journey:

  • Beethoven: Piano Sonata No. 8 in C minor, Op. 13 “Pathétique” – A defiant musical self-portrait navigating tragic, heavy thunder and sublime lyricism.
  • Schumann: Humoreske in B-flat major, Op. 20 – A diary-like, dream-like work exploring the coexistence of multiple shifting emotional truths.
  • Rachmaninoff: Piano Sonata No. 2 in B-flat minor, Op. 36 – A towering monument of late-Romantic expression driven by massive structural power and aching nostalgia.

Exceptional Achievements & Advocacy

Discovered at age four by legendary pedagogue Mary Lebenzon, Borisov’s rise through Europe’s cultural capitals has been meteoric. In October 2022, he made headlines as the youngest participant to capture First Prize at Germany’s prestigious Kissinger KlavierOlymp, where the jury lauded his “uncompromising artistic vision and natural, compelling stage presence.”

Now studying under Eldar Nebolsin at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin, Borisov has already performed at iconic venues like the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Amsterdam Concertgebouw, and Wigmore Hall. His stellar artistry is captured on internationally acclaimed albums under the Alpha Classics label.

Beyond his technical brilliance, Borisov is recognized for his profound empathy and social advocacy. In 2025, he demonstrated his commitment to global humanitarian causes by performing in a grueling 16-hour charity music marathon at Konzerthaus Dortmund to raise funds for Save the Children.
